A Good Long Day

I left this morning at 5:30 A.M. for Boston to help Seulki and Hae Jin, both who had lived with us for the past few years, move into their college dorms. Seulki arrived at Logan Airport from Seoul last night and through a series of cell phone calls we met each other in front of her new dorm to begin the move-in process. In addition to the luggage she had with her I also had a car full of several large heavy boxes which she had left with us. Together we hauled everything to the 16th floor of her dorm. When complete we visited for a short before I had to say good bye.

From BU I left for Bently College in Waltham to deliver some clothes to Hae Jin (in the picture). Our daughter Ellen had actually picked up Hae Jin a week earlier at Logan and had moved her into her dorm at Bentley, so I was merely finishing the moving-in process. While at Bentley I helped Hae Jin set up her first bank account and we made a quick trip to the mall to pick up some things she needed, inclulding a dress for a social gathering which was part of her freshmen orientation.

After saying good-bye to Hae Jin I began the 4 1/2 hour trip back home trying to arrive in time for Foxcroft Academy’s first football game of the season. Ina one of the new girls living with us was cheering (see picture) in her first game and Diana also living with us was taking on a new role as one of the managers for the football team. I arrived in town at around 8 p.m. just in time for the second half of the game and was able to cheer on both Ina and Diana.

It was a great day to see girls who had lived with us over the last few years begin their college careers while also seeing our new girls begin their involvement at Foxcroft Academy. It was a long day… I was a little tired….but it was day filled with great memories.
